Information on advanced airway management, intubation, dysrhythmia interpretation, emergency pharmacology, electrical therapy and myocardial infarctions will be presented in a didactic format and in skill practice stations. This recognition course will provide the most recent up-to-date information on acute cardiac care and Advanced Cardiac Life Support in accordance with the standards of the American Heart Association. Students must also bring a letter from either a Regional Faculty or a Lead Instructor recommending them for Instructor status.Īdvanced Cardiac Life Support Provider or Refresher Course (ACLS): Prerequisites: The AHA requires that any students registering for this course MUST have already completed the Core Instructor Course and bring the Certificate of Completion to the Instructor Course. This course is designed for ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Providers who wish to obtain their instructor certification. Upon completion the student will be issued a card and is eligible to take an Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support or Basic Life Support Instructor Course.Īdvanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor Course (ACLS): Students need to attend the entire course.
The course includes a workbook that will be issued to students the day of the course. It requires students to make decisions about what constitutes quality instruction and displaying the feedback from their decisions. The course takes place in the classroom setting with the use of interactive video based learning. The better the instructor, the better chance that more lives are saved. For students to save lives they must thoroughly learn the skills that instructors teach. Instructors play a critical role in training people to save lives. The objectives of this course are to provide the opportunity for instructors to improve their instructional skills. This review course will provide the most up-to-date information in accordance with the standards of the California State and Health Code, Title 22. The EMT Refresher module is designed for EMT-B students who need all or only a partial EMT refresher course. The EMT Recertification module is designed for students who possess a current EMT-B card and who need to complete 24 hours of continuing education and sit for the competency-based written and skills certification examination in accordance with the standards of the California State and Health Code, Title 22. This certification can lead to employment in a wide range of fields to include ambulance or fire paramedic, E.R. Upon successful completion of this course students will be eligible to take the National Registry exam offered periodically throughout the state. This course fulfills all the training requirements set forth by the state for Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedics. During these sessions students perform patient assessments, assist with patient care (including CPR, C-Spine Immobilization, airway management, etc.) and ride with the crew to deliver patients to local hospitals.
During the course students are assigned to 10-12 hours of ride along with AMR ambulance crews. This can lead to employment in a wide range of job opportunities to include: Ambulance EMT, Fire Fighter EMT, Emergency Room Technician, Private Industry EMT, Special Events Standby EMT (sporting events, concerts, state and county fairs, etc.) and others. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to take the National Registry exam. The EMT Basic course is a hands-on, interactive experience.
